BACKGROUND OF ORPHANAGE AND BRIEF HISTORY OF SWAT CHILDREN:
Khpal Kor Foundation (KKF) founded by
social activists and local philanthropists has turned in to an institution taking care of orphans' needs in the region.
Initially KKF admitted five orphans in a smaller building and started activities in 1986, the organization has achieved level
of a body with having provision of education and boarding facilities to the orphans and quality education to students from
community in Khpal Kor Complex Makan Bagh Mingora Swat, NWFP Pakistan. With the core idea of helping orphans to help themselves, the organization focused on child protection and child
rights promotion in the area. An independent survey is carried out every year to find out poor and orphan children to be admitted in the Khpal
Kor Model School. The School provides quality education to the students from low-income group of the community. The
School is one of the main projects ensuring sustainability of activities of the organization and mainstreaming marginalized
orphans with students from community to save their future. In
addition to the school, KKF Tent Service, KKF computer institute, tailoring service and a spacious auditorium equipped with
sound and other modern systems for gatherings have been established to generate funds for the huge activities of the foundation
and make the operations sustainable. Establishment of this successful model was mad possible with the support of Government,
individual philanthropists, social activists, National and International Aid Agencies,
Foundations and other institutions working the social sector. More details about KKF objectives, activities, mission
and vision could be found on www.khpalkor. org
Current Situation
The economic crises on international level badly affected
the national economy of Pakistan. Meanwhile the Security Forces of Pakistan
started operation against the militants in District Swat That resulted a huge migration of population at large scale from
the conflict affected area to the only city of Mingora. The security forces are imposing curfew on regular basis and the area
is facing shortage of all kind of commodities. All Kind of businesses has been gone astray. Recently Khpal Kor Foundation has accommodated 180 orphan children in its complex and is providing food,
education, accommodation, health treatment, sports and other facilities. Out of these 180 orphans, Dr. Naeem Khan currently
residing in USA supports 50, while rest of the cost was generated from Khpal Kor Tent Service, Computer Center and Real Estate
Business. As mentioned earlier, KKF was started few income
generation projects to sustain the activities but the current crisis in the region has demolished all the business. Now the
KKF is facing financial crises and its expected that if the situation will remain as it is, the management of KKF would not

Duration of funding and how the funding-donations will be utilized: It is hoped that
the situation in the area will become calm in the coming 12 Months. On the basis of this assumption this project is designed
for 12 Months only. After that KKF would be able restart its businesses and generate funds for its activities.
The
funding would be utilized to purchase flour, sugar, lintels, pulses, cooking oil, vegetables, Uniform and Books for 100 students

If equipment
needed.. then lists: medications, equipment, Only First aid medicines are required which are available in local market.
Serious patients are referred to Hospitals.
LOGISTICAL SUPPORT ON GROUND KKF has well
equipped building and all the logistics are available in it.
Security of teams on the ground KKF has a team
of 90 Volunteers and all them of working for the rehabilitation and protection of orphans, which is an act according to Islamic
codes and conducts. Thus there is no threat to the team working in the filed. Other local volunteers up to 200+ have joined
the volunteer network of Khpal Kor Foundation. They are working in almost all the pockets of the District having no threats
from any party. FEASIBILITY AND SUSTAINABILITY OF PROJECT AND DURATION OF SUPPORT This is a project
designed to meet the emergency. As mentioned earlier, the activities of Khpal Kor were sustainable and there was very meager
difference between income and expenditures. It is hoped that after normalcy of the situation in the area, KKF will restart
its real estate business and would be able to generate funds for the existing orphans. It is also to be mentioned that after
the normalcy of the situation the number of orphans would be increased as so many poor civilians have lost their lives in
the current terror crises. To meet the demands and needs of the new orphans, KKF will devise new strategy for fund rising.
PROJECT IN CHARGE ON GROUND: All the projects of KKF are executed under the supervision of
KKF team. Muhammad Ali Organizer/Director of Khpal Kor is leading the team.
Short biography of Muhammad is as under.
"Mohamad Ali's social change ethic was born of his early experiences with
the Scouts. Raised in a rural community in district Swat, Ali joined the Scouts as a young man and quickly distinguished himself,
